Warning, Illustration Friday

Cactus has its own built in warning devices.
And if you missed it the first time, there might even be a second thorny warning.
But these cacti are visitor- friendly...All spines have been removed for Illustration Friday!
I traveled far and wide to find these in my own backyard. It was a good excuse to get outside and soak up a little bit of warm sunshine to share with you this week- Are you feeling it yet?

  6. OOOh girl...it's time for confessions of bullied woman. I have had dreams about me pushing some really nasty people into cactus. Not your's of course. I mean well... they are to beautiful and they would only get a paper cut and that wouldn't be good enough he he he he he! Okay like there needs to be an evil laugh right there. I just want to push them down into the dang cactus. Make them sit in it and.. and..... then beat them with my tambourine!!! Over and over and over again and then make them sing, "Nearer My God to Thee!" I know it's evil, but there it is girl. Ohh pray for me to be healed.
Love your cactus paintings. They are beautiful. Great job.
    Big hugs to you.

  7. Ooooowch Michele, prickly subjects cacti but I have a few in my house. Actually the worse ones are those not with the big prickles but those with the little tiny furry ones which really do irritate the skin! A great warning here, love your painting and it's shadows... We're getting some good signs of spring here in the UK but not the dizzy heat of summer yet :0)

  9. These are wonderful! Thanks for taking the prickers out :) I especially like the top one and the softness of the background at the top contrasting with the cactus.
