Old-Fashioned, Illustration Friday
It's that wonderful old-fashioned idea that others come first and you come second. This was the whole ethic by which I was brought up. Others matter more than you do, so 'don't fuss, dear; get on with it.' ~ Audrey Hepburn
Illustration Friday offered a dose of reality with this prompt. Having just celebrated a birthday earlier in the week, I'm getting well acquainted with many things that have already been. But no matter one's age, simple old- fashioned notions will always stand up to the test of time!

I like your Old Fashioned illustration, but I LOVE your mushroom header! I had red and white mushrooms on my tree stump wedding cake. (I was married in a National Park, so it wasn't as odd as it sounds) They are so cute and precious!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to you! I hope you celebrated in an old fashioned way, with lots of cake!
ReplyDeleteCute drawing, I agree with your thought too...completely!
xxoo
Lovely illustration.
ReplyDeleteOh yes I can see this on a wonderful card. When you open it it says "Or else!".
ReplyDeleteBut seriously, it's a modern sentiment as well which is very important
Happy belated birthday! Your illustrations are lovely.
ReplyDeleteHope it was a very happy birthday Michele. I really love the IF illustration, it almost has a Victorian "air" about it! Jane x
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful, and the colors!
ReplyDeleteKindness never goes out of fashion :)
Very nice. You should make it a bumper sticker and spread that message around!
ReplyDeleteMichele! What a treat to hear from you..yes, let's all go grab a donut and I'll have to get back onto the walking trail soon. : ) Happy belated birthday!! I hope you had a wonderful day. This is a great piece - yes, old fashioned ideas still hold up though, huh? I reflect upon the simpler times a lot. Treating people well will never go out of style in my book..but as I age, it's best to treat one's self equally as well as others for we deserve it just as much. Great to see your visit today! Have a lovely weekend!
