Confined, Illustration Friday

“Laughter is one of the very privileges of reason, being confined to the human species.” ~ Thomas Carlyle

Muffled, but hysterical laughter could be heard from behind the door to the room shared by these two sisters. Often, they retreated to the tiny space where they could continue to bust up despite negative pressure cast upon them from family members who didn't relate to their humor. Although others attempted to portray these two as monsters, they were basically a couple of good girls viewing life from slightly different angles, constrained by paths set for them through DNA and other social pressures. (And that was mainly youthful exuberance and each sister constantly egging each other on).
Thank you, Illustration Friday and Thomas Carlyle, for the note of validation and excuse! ; 0 )

  9. I'm going to be seeing these guys in my sleep for sure now he he he he!!! They have a story. i just know it. Thanks so much for your kind words. I didn't have the very best childhood, but I choose to only remember the good parts and the rest well, let's just say that's for my big kids book someday he he he he!!! There was something so wonderful and magical about that time. An innocence that I really want to give back to children. I guess that's why I live in the land of whimsical charm. Have a wonderfully creative weekend cause I will be coming around again my friend.
